Position Summary

Perform advanced level engineering design, detail and problem solving.

  • Recognize, define, and develop new concepts.
  • Apply process knowledge to influence design.
  • Model assemblies for machine segments or modules meeting specifications.
  • Provide designs that are manufacturable and meet safety standards.
  • Present or participate in review of designs.
  • Complete assigned work within established schedule.
  • Originate design documentation with minimal errors including part and assembly drawings, Bill of Materials, Specification sheets, Modification kits, and project files.
  • Develop creative solutions or alternatives to assigned problems/opportunities.
  • Understand roles of other functions and provide project support as appropriate.
  • Participate in team processes and contribute to team objectives.
  • Communicate fully with supervisor and others that have a need to know in a timely, effective manner.
  • Abide by corporate policies and quality system procedures.
  • Carry out job responsibilities in a safe manner and contribute to safety and wellbeing of self and others.
  • Train less experienced personnel on established methods and facilitate transfer of technical knowledge.

 

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • Competency in design and use of engineering system tools.
  • Exhibits willingness and ability to increase knowledge through continuous education.

 

Education/Experience Required

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent
  • Typically 6 years related experience

 

Work Environment

  • Moderate to frequent exposure to shop environment; may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work typically requires the usage of PPE and can require work on the facility's production floor or on the production floor in a customer's facility. May need to travel time to time.

 

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer's facilities. Frequent lifting up to 60 pounds.
